Identifying a Good Photobook

November 13, 2019 by Kyle Leave a Comment

Photos are a great way to preserve memories and tell stories. Traditional albums are no longer your only option. Photo books are great. They save on space, they are convenient and easy to access. The following are some qualities that may help you distinguish good photo books from bad ones.

1. It Should Have a Specific Purpose

Your photo book should have a clear purpose. Do not stuff random photos in it. You may use your photo book to document specific events such as weddings, a baby’s milestones, or a family trip. If you need to document different memories, you should use different photo books.

2. Proper use of White Space

Even though it is important to have enough white space, do not overdo it. Even though you have the option to make your photo book long, it is not always necessary. You can have a good photo book without too much white space. A short yet detailed photo book saves you money and it is more captivating.

Resist the temptation to include all your good photos in a photo book. Use photos that best capture the message you intend to convey.

3. The Paper Should be Good

A good photo book is printed on high-quality paper. If printers use low-quality paper, the entire photo book may look wrong. Low-quality paper does not hold ink well. It may look messy and dull. The adhesive should be of high quality as well.

4. Simplicity

A good photo book should be simple. Do not go overboard with your colors, photos, or designs. If there is too much going on, it may take attention away from the story you are trying to tell. Pay attention to the clarity, lighting, and brightness of your photos. You should only include the necessary photos.

5. Variety

If a photo book has too much of the same thing, it might get boring. The variety will make your photo book interesting. You don’t need to use the same background on every photo. Use different backgrounds that complement each other and do not shy from experimenting with different layouts.

6. It Should Appeal to Emotions

A good photo book should appeal to your emotions. It should tell a story. If a photo book has random or impersonal photos, it may not appeal to the senses. Customizing your photo book may give it the personality and uniqueness it needs. When designing a photo book, you should not be afraid to show your creativity. It is what will set the book apart from others.

Why are carbohydrates considered ‘bad’ for your nutrition?

November 2, 2019 by Kyle Leave a Comment

The concept of “carbs” is a passionately debated topic. This is especially true in the weight-loss world because of low-carb or no-carb diets. The notion that “carbs are bad” has left many individuals muddled about carbohydrates and their significance for our health, which includes maintaining a healthy weight.

Dietitians say that carbohydrates are such a wide category which means that individuals are required to know that not all carbs are created equal. It’s all about the type, quality as well as the quantity of carbohydrate in our diet that is significant. While we should be reducing the amount of sugar in our diet – in the form of fizzy drinks and sweets – we should base our meals on starchy carbs, particularly the higher-fibre varieties as there is strong evidence that fibre, which is found in wholegrain versions of starchy carbohydrates – for example – is good for our health.

Everyone needs to consume carbohydrates. However, this doesn’t give you licence to load up on cakes and cookies to get your recommended daily servings. Whole grains, such as brown rice, have more fibre and nutrients than processed grains. Carbohydrates are a critical part of a healthy diet, yet it’s important to know that not all of them are created equal.

What Is the Glycaemic Index (GI)?

The Glycaemic Index (GI) is a scale which ranks carbohydrates in foods according to the effect that these have blood glucose levels. Carbohydrates which don’t have a high GI value (in other words, 55 or less) are digested, absorbed as well as metabolised in a slower manner. This means that they cause a lower as well as a slower rise in blood glucose in addition to insulin levels.

There are a number of groupings in the GI:

  • Low: 55 or less,
  • Mid: 56 – 69, and
  • High: 70+.

There is a very pressing requirement to define the discrepancy between a low GI diet and/or meal as opposed to a low GI food. Because a low GI food is considered as 55 or less, the entire population has made the logical assumption that a diet which averages 55 or less is a low GI diet. What the typical Australian and American eats already has a GI of between 55 and 60 owing to the fact that we eat fruits as well as dairy products and these foods naturally are low GI.

However, to reduce risks of chronic disease people should be aiming to lower the number of high GI foods that are consumed. A GI level of 45 is a better cut-off point:

  • Low: 45 or less,
  • Mid: 46-59, and
  • High: 60+.

It is known, from a number of global observational cohort surveys, that the daily average GI of the population’s diet – in the lowest 20% of the population – is between 40 – 50. It has been proven that an average GI of 45 has substantial health benefits in people with existing diabetes for reducing the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease and diabetes.

Low-GI carbohydrates

Carbohydrates supply us with the energy that we require in order to perform our everyday activities such as working, exercising as well as playing with our children. However, all carbohydrates aren’t created equal:

  • There are refined carbohydrates – such as white bread, pastries and cake – which give you a rush of energy just after you’ve eaten them.
  • However, very soon you’ll be left feeling tired and listless. In order to counteract this feeling of tiredness, you’ll eat more refined carbs to keep your energy up. Because you’re eating increased amounts of calories, you’ll put on weight should you not use this energy.

To lose weight, it is required that you eat slow-release carbohydrates (also called low GI carbohydrates) such as wholewheat bread. These carbohydrates release consistent amounts of energy into your bloodstream throughout the day. They also keep you feeling fuller for longer which means that you’ll curb the urge to keep on snacking to keep your energy levels up.

If you are confused on how to eat correctly for either exercise or overall health, it is a good idea to consult with a trained Personal Trainer to lead you so you can get the best out of your diet and overall nutrition routine.

Why Should You Be Measuring Your Engagement Rate?

October 31, 2019 by Kyle Leave a Comment

The term ‘engagement rates’ refers to metrics which track how keenly involved with your content your target market is. Consumers who are engaged interact with brands via “likes”, comments as well as social sharing.

‘Engagement rate’ is a metric that is often used in analysing the effectiveness of brand campaigns. People who devote time to interacting with videos, updates as well as blogs are more likely to convert into customers who make purchases. Engagement rates also have subset measurements like “sharing metrics” which highlight the impact of your word-of-mouth digital marketing.

There’s some controversy around which metrics are most important to digital marketing, however there’s no argument that “engagement” features at the top of the list.

Engagement rates is the exchange rate in the social media marketing industry

Vanity metrics – such as followers, likes as well as impressions – count for something. However, engagement formulas put these metrics into a more consistent perspective. That’s why engagement metrics are frequently utilised as selling points in social influencer media kits or, alternatively, to gauge a social campaign’s return on investment (ROI).

However, oddly enough there’s no standard formula for determining engagement rates. Engagement rate is a method of measuring the amount of interaction social content earns in relation to reach or other audience figures. Think about engagement rate in terms of reactions, comments as well as shares.

Ways of calculating engagement rates

There are many ways of measuring this engagement. Different calculations may be better suited your social media objectives. Here are some methods of calculating engagement.

  1. Engagement rate by reach (ERR)

This is the most common place way of calculating engagement by using content. ERR gauges the percentage of people who elected to interact with your content after they saw it. Use this formula for a single post: ERR = total engagements per post/reach per post * 100

  1. Engagement rate by posts (ER post)

This formula evaluates engagements by followers on a particular post. In other words, it’s like ERR, however instead of reaching it shows you the frequency at which followers engage with your content that you put out. Most social media influencers determine their average engagement rate in this manner: ER post = Total engagements on a post/total followers *100.

To calculate the average total post ER, add up the total number of ER posts that you want to average, and divide this by the number of posts: Average ER by post = Total ER by post/total posts.

  1. Engagement rate by impressions (ER impressions)

Another fundamental audience metric that you can choose in order to measure engagements by is ‘impressions’. Reach evaluates the number of people who see your content. ‘Impressions’ tracks how often that content appears on a screen. The formula for this is the following: ER impressions = total engagements on a post/total impressions *100.

Why Engagement Rate is Important

In the social media as well as digital marketing fields, there’s often a lot of things which are said about ROI. With the right social tool, companies can measure engagement in order to demonstrate success in social media success. In the online world, engagement leads to:

  • Greater visibility
  • Brand affinity
  • Referrals and word of mouth marketing
  • Credibility
  • Better relationships with customers

Engagement tells your digital marketing team if they’re reaching brand advocates, influencers as well as your target audience. Through engaging campaigns, you create advocates that are more likely to spread positive messages about your brand and convert into paying customers.

Why engagement is the golden standard in digital marketing

Retention is the true marker of success in digital marketing. User engagement is the device that drives customer loyalty over time. When calculated correctly, engagement rate can provide you with great insights into the behaviour of your customers. In addition, engagement rate can indicate aspects such as which customers are the best fit for your business as well as what you need to construct in order to solve their pains even better.

You’ll never build a successful company without getting users to stick around in the long term. This means that you first need to understand what engages them and why they are engaged by this aspect. Then they start improving in that direction.

Helpful Clash Clan Cheats:

1. Invite as many skilled individuals as you can to join your clan

If you want to excel at Clash of Clans, the best way to ensure your success is to focus your energy on building and maintaining a strong clan. Firstly, it’s important to strengthen your clan by adding as many skilled individuals to your clan as possible.

As an example, why not join Clash of Clan fan groups on Facebook where you’ll be able to send invites to strangers who are looking to join a strong clan via direct message.

Also, make sure to send an invite to play Clash of Clans to all of your Facebook friends. As you may be surprised by the number of contacts you know of who play Clash of Clans as Clash of Clans is currently one of the most popular online strategy games in the world.

2. Make sure to build all of your buildings as close together as possible

Many players are unaware that if you build your buildings close together your village’s defense stats will increase significantly, which will make it far more difficult for enemies to destroy your village’s buildings, than if your buildings were spaced out.

If you’ve already erected dozens of buildings, fear not as Clash of Clans does allow players to shift buildings which have already been erected.

3. Make sure that your village boasts multiple lines of defense

As an example, while the first step you should take to fortify your village is to build towers around the perimeter of your village’s boundaries, you should also invest funds into purchasing canons which have plenty of firepower and which can take out dozens of invaders.

4. To gain rewards, use canons to knock down your enemies walls

Don’t wait for your troops to knock down your enemies walls as you’ll receive greater bonuses if you knock down your enemies walls with a few well-aimed shots from a canon.

5. Make collecting gold and elixir one of your top priorities

In order to progress in Clash of Clans, it’s well worth making collecting and stockpiling gold and elixir one of your top priorities. If you’re worried about enemy troops invading your village and looting your hard earned stockpile of gold and elixir it’s well worth experimenting with placing your town hall outside your city’s gate.

When enemies stronger than yourself defeat your town hall, they’ll be rewarded an automatic victory point, however, you will be rewarded with a useful shield and you’ll survive a defeat without conceding gold or elixir.

However, if your gameplay revolves around racking up wins and you don’t need gold or elixir to further your progress in the game, simply place your town hall inside your walls, in order to protect it from invaders.

So if you’re intent on becoming a powerful Clash of Clans player, it’s definitely worth using the five tricks and cheats listed above to your advantage.
